About Edward Wesley, Master Storyteller
A storyteller is a painter of pictures on the canvas of the mind using nothing more than words. Audiences of all ages will enjoy the journey of the imagination through Edward Wesley's well-told stories. Edward Wesley is a storyteller and writing education consultant who performs and consults in schools, elementary through college, year ‘round. In addition to his high quality performances, Edward Wesley uses his stories to motivate others to tell and write their own tales as he relates orality to literacy. Students across the country have gained this skill by experiencing his cleverWRITE™ workshops, which use oral models from multiple genres to hook students into the writing process. In addition to his writing workshops, he shares stories in school assemblies, churches, teacher inservice training workshops, theaters, and libraries. In addition to his community-based work, he has spoken regularly to corporate businesses, offering stories that challenge and motivate. Edward Wesley taught elementary school in Lexington, Kentucky for several years before becoming a writing consultant. He holds a M.A. in Storytelling from East Tennessee State University and a Master in Education. His master’s research links the usage of oral traditional storytelling as a teaching tool .
